Summary

  • check the allocation result before initializing the newly allocated response buffer
  • return the existing empty-result sentinel when allocation cannot be satisfied

Validation

  • configured and built the project with six parallel jobs
  • ran the built executable's help smoke check
  • reran the independent path analysis; the reported unchecked-allocation path is no longer present

Author

Closing this PR at the project owner's request. It was opened directly during automated validation without the owner-specific upstream approval required by our reporting workflow. The underlying unchecked-allocation candidate remains internal evidence and may be resubmitted as an issue only after explicit owner review. Sorry for the noise.
