A day of hand-making with technology, getting inspired and feeling confident to do more than you thought you could
Full event description
We are running an open-to-all, free-of-charge event as part of a global set of Processing Community Day events, called Who Programmed This? Tech, Tinker, Play. We welcome everyone to have a go at, and collectively think about making with technology. This is especially important as technology feels like it is controlled by fewer interests, and opportunities for the curious many to hand-make with the tech directly seem less available. We welcome those who may not typically engage with the messy insides of the technology black box, as well as those who do.
The day will run 10-4 on Saturday 17th October at Bath Spa University's Locksbrook campus as a series of drop-in activities, timed workshops, talks, installations and demos embracing the theme Hand-Made with Tech for all ages, abilities and comfort with tech.
There will be a companion evening event (18+, ticketed), Who Programmed This? (Dark Mode On) from 7:30-11pm at nearby Roseberry Road Studios, celebrating music, visuals and performance that is Hand-made with tech.
